John Dumelo. Mzbel. Mr Beautiful. Afia Schwarzenegger. All of these celebrities have never received a penny from the NDC to endorse them and/or campaign for them.
That’s the claim made by Minister of Communication, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, during a an appearance on Joy Fm earlier today (Tuesday).
The increase of celebrity endorsements (on both sides) have been one of the main features of this election, and both major parties have been accused of buying this support from the celebrities. Some of the lucky ones supporting the government have all of a sudden been spotted driving in luxury SUV’s, but Omane-Boamah claims none of them have been paid to support the President.
“President Mahama and the NDC are not paying off stars who have endorsed the President.”he said on the Accra based station earlier today.
“The fact that you’re using a vehicle does not mean you are the owner.” he added.
“I think that having spoken about those who have endorsed, we need to call for much more tolerance from opponents of the NDC in this elections. You recall the sort of attacks and vituperation we witnessed against John Dumelo…it was completely uncalled for. I believe going forward NPP has to exhibit much tolerance, we know it is not in their DNA but we’ll encourage them to cultivate it and be much more tolerant of people who are endorsing [us].
“They are doing it out of their own free will, persons such as Rex Omar, John Dumelo are established people and I believe that at the end of the day, the silent majority will even matter much more going into the December 7 elections than you see on platforms.” The Minister concluded.
Errr do you really think we expect you to tell us that you gave them money?
You NDC ministers really know how to insult the intelligence of citizens paaa. S M H…..
