Samuel Eto’O Fils lays down the gauntlet for himself and the Turkish side he plays for by placing a pretty daring bet with a fan of the club.
Eto’s Antalyaspor are having a rotten season, stuck to the bottom of the league table and gasping for air. This has led to a lot of complaining fans who believe the problem is with their misfiring legendary striker.
After conceding a last minute winner against Rizespor Monday night to remain winless and rooted to the bottom of the Turkish Superlig, Eto’O was confronted by some unhappy fans who wondered when the team would win their first game.
“We will finish in the top 10 of the Super Lig, I stand by what I said and my promise.” Eto’O told the fan.
“Believe me, I will give you €100,000 if we don’t finish in the top 10.” the four time African player of the year is quoted as saying, according to Goal.com.
Damn. If I were that fan I would pray my team loses every game for the rest of the season!
