If you thought WASSCE results are bad in Ghana, like I do – then wait till you hear about some results from Liberia!
According to the BBC, the about 42,000 students who sat this year’sWASSCE exam almost universally failed to pass a university entrance exam, with a measly ONE student passing.
Armstrong Gbessagee, 18, from the J.J. Roberts United Methodist School in the capital, Monrovia, is the one who achieved this feat – passing the Division One entry level exam. The paper is administered to choose qualified students to enroll in University.
“No matter where you are from we are not less, intellectually, than other people from across West Africa. I hope others see this as a motivation. ” Armstrong told the BBC’s Jonathan Paye-Layleh in Monrovia.
