Former Ghana National Team coach Kwesi Appiah has been named the best coach in the Sudanese league after leading his club to fifth place in the league standings on the back of some impressive displays.
Appiah took charge of Al Khartoum about two years ago and managed to lead them to the top half of the table in his first full season in charge.
At the awards night for Sudanese football, Appiah grabbed the coach of the year award, even beating Fawzy Al Mardy, head coach of the league champions Al Hilal Omdurman.
Appiah handled the Black Stars for two years between 2012 and 2014, leading the team on their disastrous 2014 world cup campaign where they were eliminated in the group stages.
