Former head of the Ghana Football Association Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is calling for the firing of Black Stars manager Avram Grant, describing him as ‘lazy’ and ‘useless’.
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe is furious with the coach for the Star’s horrible start to World Cup qualifying, which commenced with a dour 0-0 draw against minnows Uganda at home.
Speaking to Joy Fm, he said Grant was useless to the team, characterising him as a lazy man who always stays outside Ghana doing what he likes.
“This is a useless coach. I don’t know what the FA is waiting for. Grant should be given the kick but he himself should get off the stage. We don’t want him,” he said.
“If you look carefully at his demeanor, he is a lazy person, very lazy person because I have not come across any coach who has handled our boys for us who decides to stay in Europe and comes here when he chooses.”
Grant has a contract with Ghana which runs till February of next year, and so far despite a slump in results in the past four games, there has been no indication from either the FA or Grant that the relationship would not run till February. After that, he’s unlikely to get an extension, something he has shown little interest in himself.
