Confidence K. Baah’s death shocked the Ghanaian media fraternity Sunday when it broke, perhaps illustrating how fleeting life is and how it could be snuffed out at any moment.
The popular award winning presenter for both Kessben Fm and TV in Kumasi, died Sunday morning when he was found unconscious and rushed to hospital but failed to revive.
Police have picked up one Florence Osei, aka Afua Birago, who has been described as the long time girlfriend of the deceased. They have reportedly been together for eight years.
Florence spent Saturday night with Confidence, but says she left him at dawn, around 4:30am.
He picked her up earlier in the day, she told officers, after which they visited about three drinking bars in the vicinity. They later went to his place, but he was too inebriated for them to do anything, so he went straight to sleep.
He was later found Sunday (after she had left) by an aunt who had come to wake him up. She narrated the sad incident, which you can listen to here.
An autopsy on the reporter would be carried out today (Monday), after which police would decide whether Afua Birago would remain a suspect or be released.
