West Ham United forward and Ghana Black Stars deputy skipper, Andre Dede Ayew, has been named in the initial 30 man shortlist for 2016 African Player of the Year award.
The shortlist was revealed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over the weekend as the process for the selection of the continent’s best player within the past year commences proper.
Dede placed third in voting for last year’s award, finishing behind eventual winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon and Ivory Coast’s Yaya Toure.
