Yes! you read the headline right–China produces a new billionaire every 5 days, says a new report.
According to a report by UBS and PricewaterhouseCoopers, one billionaire pops up in Asia every three days, outpacing all other regions in the world.
China alone accounted for 71% of Asia’s new billionaires in 2015, up from 35% in 2009, according to the report, which has analyzed data covering more than 1,300 billionaires over the past two decades.
The raw translation of the above is captured as this: “Of 113 Asian entrepreneurs who reached billionaire status last year, 80 of them are from China–that’s more than half of the world’s total count, and means China gains a new billionaire every five days.”
It’s not just China only which is creating billionaires, Hong Kong and India which are also Asian countries had the highest number of new billionaires last year, at 11 each.
If you want to be a billionaire, it seems Asia is a good place to be…
