PPP flagbearer Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has suspended his campaign in the wake of the tragic demise of Eva Lokko.
Eva Lokko, a former Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, passed away Thursday at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Dr Nduom, who had been expected to deliver a massive policy speech Saturday, has instead announced he’s putting his campaign on break to mourn his long time friend and political ally.
“Eva and me had promised each other not too long ago to put our health and personal lives before politics.” he wrote on Facebook.
“I need to take a break. The scheduled broadcast I was to make to the nation this Saturday cannot happen. I need a few days off. There is more to life than politics.” he added.
Dr Nduom stood alongside Eva Lokko in the 2o12 elections, with the late Lokko being his running mate on the PPP’s Presidential ticket.
