It looks like this election season, either party is concerned with making the other out as having the monopoly on alcoholism.
Hopeson Adoye recently claimed that the President is unable to make a public speech without downing some whiskey, and now the NDC is claiming Nana Addo speaks like a drunkard.
National Organiser of the Party, Kofi Adams, made the allegation during an appearance on TV3. He was responding to recent comments by Nana Addo that the NDC has the patent when it comes to rigging elections.
“I must admit that Nana Addo is getting to a point where he speaks not too differently from someone who has been intoxicated with alcohol,” Kofi Adams said.
He went on to attempt to disprove the allegation, saying that the NDC has overseen significant reform at the Electoral Commission since 1992 to make elections harder to rig.
“In 2009, NDC allowed biometric verification making the election more transparent. Transmission of results also became more transparent with the involvement of party agents, he said.
“If the NDC wants to rig elections it will not fund activities of a machinery which allows transparency in Ghana’s elections to be implemented,” he added.
