GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has been elected as one of two African representatives on the highest making decision body of world football’s governing body – the Fifa Executive Council.
Nyantakyi won a tight race with Madagascar FA Chief Ahmed, polling 31 votes to beat his opponent by just a single vote in the elections held at the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo Thursday.
The other seat went to Almamy Kabele Camara of Guinea, who is the vice-President of CAF.
The elected representatives would serve six month terms after which they would have to stand for re-election.
