The internet has been looking for a worthy successor to Psy ever since ‘Gangnam Style’ and it seems like the powers that be have decided to thrust that accolade on a Japanese DJ.
Piko-Taro released the short video of him singing the song known as ‘Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen’ (PPAP), on his YouTube channel. He sings the bizzare song about a pen and a pineapple to a catchy little tune and some funny hand gestures.
And it went viral. Truly viral. It’s been viewed over 5m times on his page, and become more popular after 9Gag shared it on Facebook, where it has garnered over 55m views!
Yes, 55 million views.
