A battle of Jehovah and some local gods in Nigeria went the way of the gods when a pastor who decided to confront the local powers found himself abandoned by his God.
Pastor Wale Fagbere reportedly visited the shrine in Ketu, a community in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Nigeria’s Ogun State.
The good pastor said he got a vision that unless he destroys the shrines in the area, the darkness in the land would never be lifted.
So he dutifully went to the shrine to face the gods, but he reportedly got transfixed to the spot, left unable to speak or move by the power of the gods he was challenging.
This led to some residents of the area calling for help, before the priests of the shrine came in to save the day. They performed the necessary rites to save our pastor from his spiritual turmoil.
The state acting Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident to Nigerian media.
“The command got the report at its division in Ayetoro that one Evangelist Wale Fagbere went to Ketu to destroy traditional worshippers’ shrines. After the destruction, the man became motionless and could not talk,” he said.
“When the policemen visited the place, the traditionalists said the subject could not be taken away until some rites were performed. The victim was revived and handed over to his family for more spiritual cleansing.”
