Ivorian defender Serge Aurier has received a two month jail sentence in France for elbowing a police officer.
Aurier, who turns out for French champions Paris Saint-Germain, was involved in the altercation at a night club in Paris in May.
Appearing in court Monday, the presiding judge found him guilty and sentenced the 23 year old to a two month sentence, as well as a fine of €600.
“According to the police account, the officer involved needed to take a day off work to recover from his injuries.” the BBC reported.
“Aurier denied the charge, arguing that he was a victim of police violence.”
