Akua Donkor’s romance with the NDC is well known, as she is generally seen as being a surrogate of the party. She’s known to attack the NPP whilst praising the NDC and sometimes even gets to travel on state trips.
Despite all these, that she’ll have the brazenness to use an NDC song as her personal ringtone is not something that one could comprehend her doing.
However, that’s exactly what happened at an EC forum Friday when Akua Donkor’s phone rang during the program and it turned out to be that of an NDC campaign song.
The song, ‘Dumsor is Dead’ by Michael Adangba, blared out from her phone during the launch of an electoral manual for party candidates and their agents.
Attendees – executives representing all the political parties – were understandably baffled as to how one person could go so far to endorse someone she’s competing for the same position with.
But Akua Donkor, who spoke to 3News after the incident, said she saw nothing wrong with her choice of ringtone. She said the President was her son and therefore if he managed to end dumsor and there’s a song celebrating it, she can also bask in that achievement.
Or how about our explanation? – he gave her a car and a house so she does whatever she can to support him.
