The woman  at the centre of a ‘rape’ scandal and who bit off the penis of her fire commander who she said was trying to rape her has been arrested and reportedly charged.
Now identified as Ata Takyi, the lady made news last week when she bit off the manhood of the Fire Commander in Techiman, who had allegedly entered her room and tried to rape her.
She said she thus pretended to agree and during the foreplay, took the chance to take the bite so she can escape.
However, the Ghanaian Times reports that the lady was arrested after the incident, and later granted police enquiry bail. Contrary to popular opinion, the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Sampson Gbande told the paper that the lady was in a relationship with the commander, and thus her actions equated to causing harm.
She has been asked to report periodically to the police station until the investigations are completed.
It looks like the police are not buying the lady’s claims that the officer tried raping her – although on what evidence they are making that decision we’re not privy to.
