‘Awurama’ singer Lord Paper has had to come out to clarify that he isn’t gay after a lyric from his latest single ‘Pono’ got misinterpreted as such.
The singer was supposed to drop the visuals for ‘Pono’ Monday as well, but eventually decided against it, and explained his rationale in this interview.
In the same interview, he touched on the matter of his s*xuality, clarifying that he is indeed a straight male.
He also added, rather uncharacteristically for a Ghanaian, that whilst he’s not gay, he doesn’t begrudge those who are gay.
“..I’m not gay” he said. “I’m straight but respect freedom of choice.”
He also said that Trigmatic was one of the people who advised him to halt his erotic videos act.
“Thanks to Trigmatic for his advice this morning.” he said.
“I’m listening to you brother. I’m actually a rapper and when a rapper starts singing means he’s been hungry for long.. The hungrier you become the more you explore your talent.”
