Yemi Alade just joined the championing feminism course with her Snap chat rant yesterday. Over the years, women have been treated in a certainly way and unfairly marginalised just for being women and it looks like the shout to be treated fairly by these self decorated chauvinistic men is still not sitting well in the heads of some men.
The Johnny hit maker, Yemi Alade says her so called Nigerian music critics are being painfully gender bias when it come to critiquing songs done by female acts as compared to their tenderness when it is from their very own gender.
She took to snap chat to vent her frustrations and distaste.
“I don tire for all this self-acclaimed critics in this Nigeria. They don’t do any form of research, they don’t listen to the artistes’ songs” she began her rant. ” I‘m upset about this kind of thing, I just really think that people don’t know when they’re actually being biased gender wise. They don’t know when they’re trying to pick on females. Enough is enough, y’all just shut up!
Yemi has been nominated for the 2016 All Africa Music Awards and she is already prepping for her world tour which is set to take place in the United Kingdom, the rest of Europe and Asia.
