They are one of Ghana’s most legendary singing groups, still going strong after over a decade of consistent successes – but even VVIP got hit with the group breaking up curse.
Prodigal, Promzy and Zeal were the beloved trio for many years, until Promzy left the group and Reggie Rockstone recently joined on.
The hits the group have released, both in their previous and current iterations, are uncountable, and speaking on the reasons that led to their break-up, they said it was due to Promzy’s desire to have a solo career.
“Promzy left [because] he wanted to go on a solo career.” the group said, speaking on GhOne Friday.
Prodigal, who was talking at the time, said that Promzy was welcome back anytime in the group as the split isn’t something they hold personal.
“If Promzy makes a phone call to the group today and says ‘My brothers, I want to come back to the group’ he’s always welcome because we started a whole movement with him.”
Promzy, though, has often maintained that he was kicked out due to the machinations of Reggie Rockstone, something the group have always vehemently denied.
