In a moment of political irony that would be pretty tough to beat, the convoy of NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo got stuck in water during a tour of the Northern Region, the very place his opponent and the current President, John Dramani Mahama, hails from.
Whenever the NDC are hit with claims of ruining the economy, they counter by saying they have initiated massive infrastructure development that is unprecedented. Yet in the President’s very own region of the country, the argument doesn’t seem to hold up very well.
According to the Daily Graphic, Nana Addo’s convoy was travelling from Yendi to Saboba in the East Gonja District Thursday when the event occurred.
Shortly after crossing the bridge that links the two towns, they reportedly encountered a near unusable stretch of road filled with water that they had to cross to continue their tour. Amazingly, this is reportedly the second time this has happened in the past three or four days.
The NPP flagbearer and several top party brass are in the region for a tour. Check out more photos from the incident below, via the Graphic.
