Stephen Hill, who is BET’s head of programming, made the big announcement on Snapchat. The Miami super producer accepted the job and threw a few playful jabs at Hill.
“Don’t play yourself,” said Khaled. “You’ve been wanting me to host this for a long time. Congratulations, I’ll do it.”
Hill warned Khaled that he has to bring it to the awards ceremony. A nonchalant Khaled reassured the BET executive that he will bring plenty of entertainment to the show.
“I got this,” he replied. “Congratulations, you’re gonna have another win under your belt. Matter of fact, another one.”
The event is slated for October 4— he is also up for 9 nominations that night: ‘DJ of the Year,’ ‘Best Hip-Hop Video,’ ‘MVP of the Year,’ ‘Track of the Year,’ ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Hustler of the Year,’ ‘People’s Champ Award’ and two nods for ‘Best Collabo, Duo or Group.’
