Rapper/actor Ice Cube has blasted reports suggesting he has endorsed controversial U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Ice Cube took to social media to make it clear he will not be voting for Trump in November (16).
“I will never endorse a mothaf**ka (sic) like Donald Trump! EVER!!!— Stealing endorsement is not how you become the president of the United States, homie. Leave my name out ya mouth (sic)…”
This follows when the rapper in April had an interview with Bloomberg Politics. In the interview, he said:
“Donald Trump is what Americans aspire to be: rich, powerful, do what you want to do, say what you want to say, be how you want to be. He looks like a boss to everybody. Americans love a boss, so that’s his appeal to me.”
He also levelled criticism at Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for appearing to refer to black youths as “super predators” in a speech about crime back in 1996.
But the comments about Trump were taken out of context, as Ice Cube had actually gone on to pour doubt on the billionaire businessman’s statements about helping poor African-Americans, insisting, “He’s a rich white guy.”
