Pop star Justin Bieber has reactivated his Instagram account after shutting it down following tons of abuse directed at him and his girlfriend.
Bieber, almost clandestinely, reactivated the account in the early hours of Monday, August 29, a fortnight after being forced to shut it down.
Bieber deleted his account on the photo sharing site after receiving some fan abuse over photos and videos he posted of he and his new girlfriend Sofia Richie.
Bieber, for a few days before deactivating his account, had been complaining about the abuse from fans, something which even prompted Selena Gomez to comment on the post, blaming him for the abuse he was receiving.
But after turning his account private, Bieber deleted it for good, with those visiting his page being informed that “Sorry, this page isn’t available”
The page is now back up.
Justin Bieber is the fourth most followed person on the site, with 77.8m followers – and he only follows 75 people.
Bieber had warned earlier that he would take his account private following the abuse directed at Sofia – who’s the daughter of the legendary singer Lionel Richie – and did so on August 16. But after receiving more abuse from followers, he deleted the account entirely the next day.
