Maurice Ampaw is currently on a one week hunger strike (so we’re told) as a form of protest against the President of the land, John Dramani Mahama, for granting a Presidential pardon to the Montie 3.
Ampaw began his hunger strike Tuesday, August 23, after a statement announced the pardon late Monday.
Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper and NDC surrogate Kwesi Pratt Jnr, says he doesn’t understand why Ampaw is undergoing the strike for just ten days and then stopping, especially if he hasn’t achieved his goals by then.
…I ask myself why one week? In places where people seriously go on hunger strike they go on the hunger strike until their objective is achieved.” Pratt said Saturday, speaking on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji.
According to him, the ten days is nowhere near enough for Ampaw to achieve his objectives.
“More people should go on hunger strike…I’m only disappointed that is for one week,” Pratt added.
