Friday, August 26 – this is the day the Montie 3 are set to be pardoned after the remission of their sentences by the President, and the three have consequently walked out of prison.
Alistair Nelson, Salifu ‘Mugabe’ Maase and Godwin Ako Gunn have been released per the executive order, and already the jubilation have kick started for the NDC faithful who believe they have won a moral victory.
The three were jailed four months for contempt by the Supreme Court last month, after taking part in a radio program on Montie Fm, hosted by Maase, in which threats were made on the lives of the justices.
A petition for their release was then handed to the President, who approved it based on the advice of the Council of State.
The three were released from the Akuse prisons, where they had been transferred after being moved out of Nsawam earlier this week. They served one out of the intended four month sentence.
Photos of the three after their release can already be seen. Check them out below….
