Ghanaian child actor Abraham Attah has taken receipt of the 10,000 Tom Shoes as promised and commenced distribution to schools and those in need across the country.
Attah wore a pair of the shoes to this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, after which he announced a plan to distribute 10,000 of them to children all across the country.
At a press conference at the Gold Coast Restaurant in Accra Thursday, Attah acknowledged the arrival of the shoes, and thanked the company for making good on their promise.
“I want to say ‘thank you’ to Toms for giving me this opportunity to give out 10,000 shoes to the needy in Ghana.” he said.
Attah and his team later started distribution of the shoes, commencing with 30 boxes to his alma matter Ashiaman Primary and JSS. He also presented 30 boxes to the Ashaiman community as a whole.
Later donations would be made to charity organisations across the country.
