The founder and leader of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has been whisked away from CID headquarters to the premises of the Bureau of National Investigations following the swarming of the police offices by his supporters.
The controversial pastor is in police grips after he turned himself in over charges of assault, later materialising into fraud charges based on a recently reported case.
After he was picked up by Tema Police, they handed him over to the CID – but they have also had to transfer him to the BNI for holding based on the commotion being caused by his followers.
A few of them reportedly got into physical clashes with the police, with TV3 reporting on their midday bulletin that one woman slapped a police officer and was picked up.
