Kumasi based rapper and BBNZ Live talent Linford Kojo Amankwaa – stage name Ko-Jo Cue – has set up some fireworks after passing some strong comments on YFm on the state of the rap game in Ghana.
Speaking with Joel, the young lyricist said that whilst Accra certainly has most of the rappers in the game, Kumasi, in his view, have rapper who are better at what they do. He said each city could be said to have its own style but he sees Kumasi as the top.
“I will say Kumasi rappers are better at what they do than any other. Nobody else raps like the way Kumasi rappers do.” the ‘Oseikrom President’ hitmaker said.
“While overall I’m not going to say we have better rappers than Accra,” he hedged; “There are so many styles, just like the way the Takoradi guys are doing theirs now.
“But as far as numbers, Accra has the numbers.” he added.
Ko-Jo shot to fame after the release of his debut mixtape ‘The Shining’, which was praised for the young talent’s lyrical dexterity. He has since signed with BBNZ Live and has dropped singles with some of the biggest names on the local and international scene including Mr Eazi, Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone and Lil Shaker.
