The founder and leader of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, says the police would be wise not to involve themselves in his current controversy – after he flogged two ‘minors’ in his church for fornication and attempted abortion.
The Bishop appeared on TV3’s New Day Monday to speak on the issue and the fact that the police are after him, and according to him it is a simple matter of disciplining his two children for going wayward, and thus there is no need for police involvement.
He said any policeman who decides to involve themselves in this case is not sensible.
“I respect the Police, and I respect the Judges” he said. “…[but] no sensible policeman would bring him/herself into this flogging case”
Obinim is expected to meet the police later today, after failing to make an invitation over the weekend.
