The aide to Bishop Daniel Obinim who has been fighting the PR storm this recent video has become, Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya, says the Bishop is ready to take on anyone – whether they send him to court or send him before God.
The controversial bishop has been at the centre of a storm after a video surfaced online showing him lashing some two members of his church for alleged fornication and an abortion.
The case has drawn swift condemnation, and the Gender Minister Nana Oye Lithur has reportedly filed a police report against the Bishop.
But speaking on Starr Fm Friday, Brenya said the Bishop is ready to face anyone, and that he doesn’t fear those challenging him. He said nobody can punish the Bishop for what he did.
“[They] should bring it on, we are ready to face them” he told Nii Arday Clegg on Morning Starr.
He added that Obinim was just doing what any other parent would have done, and thus hasn’t done anything wrong. He said, ultimately, the Bishop was answerable only to God.
“If someone thinks Obinim erred Biblically then that person should petition God.” he concluded.
