Uber is set to roll out a new state of the art feature with the introduction of driverless cars into the system.
The company is rolling out the self driving cars in Pittsburgh, to be provided at random to some customers who request for an Uber – to use at no cost to them.
The company is piloting the use of driverless Ubers, and several measures are being taken to make them safe enough for their customers to feel comfortable using.
Each car would have a driver on hand to take charge in case something goes wrong, as well as a second person to take notes of the car’s performance. A tablet would be available to provide info to the passenger about the car to tone down the unfamiliarity of the experience.
Uber is reportedly intent on taking point in the self driving car market, and with this feature have shown a level of progress competitors like Google look far off from attaining.
Take a good look at what the future looks like.
