Nii Lante Vanderpuye is not just embroiled in controversy in the political arena – he has been at the centre of multiple storms ever since he joined the sports ministry as sector minister.
His comments on the FA has indicated someone at odds with the powerful national body, and in a recent interview, he jabbed the prima donna filled Black Stars team for being too focused on money.
Nii Lante was speaking to Joy News on the bonuses paid to the Ghanaian contingent in Rio – which has finally been paid after some significant delays – when he said the athletes have been very good and patient, unlike what would have happened if it had been footballers.
The Black Stars were at the centre of a bonus row at the 2014 world cup that made Ghana a laughingstock across the globe. Obviously he was referring to them.
