5 People You Would Have To Tolerate If You Live In A Compound House

Until the camel dies, its back would never be spared of laden. You are living in a compound house and you dream of having a peace of mind, dream on my dear because I bet you wouldn’t want to wake up to this damning reality. Until you build or buy or through whatever means get to be a bonafide owner of a house, you simply cannot avoid certain harsh and unfathomable character traits of people you share a compound with. The truth is even if you are at your somewhere minding your own business, some of these tenants just won’t leave you be. They would find whatever or whichever means to serve you a fair share of their distasteful trouble. Mind you dear reader, when I say compound house I nowhere mean a gated, well cemented, fenced, neatly furnished and kept house---compound house here means the type where the place is too crowded that one would practically bath another’s child in the morning in oblivion. A type where you have to walk through someone’s living room before entering your own room. The kind of compound houses where everything is in disarray, where kids walk about tirelessly,malnourished and unkempt. Now that is what I am talking about. And in these houses , you would find these kind of people 1. The Pioneer Tenant These people are the ones who have lived literally all their lives in the house. They know all the history and everything that ever happened in the house. The way they can take you back in time on all the events surrounding the house would make you think they work in the museum. This people have lived there so much so that they are delusional enough to think they actually own the house. They can be a real pain in the ass and you dare not cross their line else you would be ejected before your rent is due. 2. The Nosy Tenant (nfiifiimu) I personally hate this kind of people. They want to know everything about you---they ask unnecessary questions and they are the ones who often wear this fake smile. All they ever want to do is pleasing you to think that they like you, be vigilant and sober my dear because they do not like you. Tenants of this calibre are more callous than the "many faces god". They would slither their cunning self into your life and sting you with their venom and leave you dreading for all eternity. When she knocks on your door to come and watch Kumkum Bahgya or calls you from her window, know you have finally met the nosy tenant---run as fast away from her as possible. 3. The "Konkonsa" Crew (Gossips) You will find people who have selflessly decided to dedicate their entire 24 hours to gossiping about others but those who live in compound houses are adept in this very office. It is worst when there is a tree in the middle of the house---they shamelessly make that place their headquarters where all reviews and discussions are made. Ludu is the only thing that keeps them busy, for that they can play till hours on end and they only get up when they are going to watch their telenovela's (cooking sef they won't cook). And woe betides you if you are the kind who is always in your shells, the "too know" person as they would put it---you always make headlines at their meetings. 4. The Trouble Initiator These kind of tenants literally live on trouble. They find delight in making your stay in the not so comfortable house pure misery. They have an insatiable satisfaction urge and nothing you do ever pleases them--they are often the rowdy, loud and out of place type of people. The kind who would ask a male tenant to scrub the bathroom and sweep the compound , the type who would complain about someone using her drying line. Surprisingly such tenants have followers, she initiate a problem, stirs and fuels it and soon everyone would be sing the same song to you. They are just trouble and once they are on your case, you would forget how to even smile. 5. The Notorious Tenant This one is a a deviant and always in some sort of trouble. It is either they are fighting with their spouse or their debtors are raiding the house or they are beating other people's children. Their lives revolve around fighting and qualms. They are often promiscuous. They are friends with everyone in the house and you will see them entering and exiting other's room as if they share it with them. They are shameless and do not give a hoot about what anyone would say. At the back of all that, they are quite a good company to be with.
