Combative Black Stars midfielder Rabiu Mohammed has joined the Russian top flight side Anzhi Makachkala on a three year deal.
The 24 year old joins the side on a free transfer, after his contract with Kuban Krasnodar ran out without an extension.
Rabiu, a combative box-to-box midfielder, is currently injured with a knee problem. He played for Liberty Professionals in Ghana before venturing abroad – where he had stints with Evian Thonon-Galliard and Xerez, before joining Kuban.
He was a member of the gold medal winning 2009 Black Satellites team captained by Andre Ayew. Rabiu has won 31 caps for the Black Stars, and is yet to score.
