A masked intruder hit the pitch and attacked a goalkeeper during a Swedish First Division game that led to the game being called off.
Ostersund were playing Jonkoping Sodra when the incident occurred, with the attacker jumping barriers to get on the pitch, hitting Ostersund goalie Aly Keita.
Keita was struck in the temple, and fellow players and game stewards crowded the attacker. The referee called off the game after that, saying that Keita was not fit to play on.
“I am shocked and angry. It is awful that something like this could happen.” Keita said later, according to the Guardian.
“I was a bit dizzy but now I am fine. I am going with the rest of the team to the hotel and go to bed. The police asked if I wanted to go to hospital but I don’t like hospitals.”
The intruder, a 17 year old, has been arrested.
