The National Football League (NFL) together with Pepsi, have issued out a statement denying that Adele was extended an offer to play next year’s Superbowl halftime show.
The ‘Hello’ singer revealed on Saturday that although she was offered the chance to play the show, she turned it down because it’s not a show about music, and that she isn’t much of a performer.
But in a swift counter statement Sunday, the NFL/Pepsi denied extending Adele any such offer.
“The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.” the statement read.
Whether they extended the offer or not, Adele is not appearing – and I feel that’s the way everybody wins.
