The spin-off of the beloved Ocean’s Eleven series, this time to feature an all female cast – is shaping up pretty nicely.
Warner Bros Wednesday confirmed an October start date for filming of the spin-off, ‘Ocean’ s Eight’, and also confirmed deals for music stars Rihanna and Awkwafina.
Deadline reported nearly finalised deals for the stars, but those have since been confirmed. The all female cast for the spin off would include the aforementioned duo, then Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Mindy Kaling. There’s still one slot of the eight left to fill.
The script was penned by Gary Ross and Olivia Milch, whilst Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh would produce, with Susan Ekins Executive producing. Greg Silverman and Jesse Ehrman would serve as directors.
