GFA Boss Kwasi Nyantakyi has filed suit at the High Court in Accra against two controversial sports presenters, and their employers, alleging defamation of character.
Ghanasoccernet reports that the GFA boss is suing Patrick Osei-Agyemang, popularly known as Countryman Songo, and Kofi Asare Brako, aka Abatay, for consistently defaming his name and character for years on the Multimedia Group owned radio station Asempa Fm.
The Multimedia Group Limited are therefore also party to the suit.
Abatay, currently at Atinka Fm, worked for Asempa Fm a few years ago, and alongside Songo, have been fierce critics of the GFA capo. Songo runs a very popular program, ‘Fire for Fire’, which consistently attacks perceived corruption in the GFA.
Nyantakyi’s suit says the two have consistently defamed him, thus causing irreparable harm to his reputation and exposing him to public ridicule and scorn.
Nyantakyi’s lawyers have presented over 100 recordings as evidence of the vile attacks visited upon them by the defendants, and have joined Multimedia to the suit for consistently providing the platform for these attacks.
Nyantakyi is seeking Ghc 8m in damages.
