My Experience: Eddy's Pizza Never Changes—They Have Taken Bad Customer Service to A Whole New Level…Common Tissue is A Problem

From: CustomerDiscuss.Com

Some things never change, no matter how much efforts you put into it.

It’s like teaching an old dog new trick. That is exactly how Eddy’s Pizza Tema, located on the ground floor of the Giaan towers, off the Hospital road is when it comes to customer service. They seem to have taken bad customer service to a whole new level.

After all the backlashing Eddy’s Pizza received from CustomerDiscuss.Com and one of the co-owners, Ed Quartey coming to apologise and promising a better customer service, we all thought all is well now until my experience with them last Sunday

So last Sunday, my girls and I decided to put pizza on the menu for our little “sitting”, and we decided to buy from Eddies since it’s the closest to our location.

I have been a witness to how long it takes to get a pizza from them  on a number  of occasions and since I didn’t want to go waste my time sitting there waiting, I decided to call them and place an order ahead of time.

I called and a lady picks, no name, it is basic corporate phone ethics for the person at the other end to know who they are communicating with.

I placed an order for two jumbo size supreme pizzas. I asked the lady when it will be ready; and she tells me 30 minutes time. I asked her how I will know if it was ready, because my sister had one ordered for her sometime back and when she went to collect it, it was cold and I didn’t want my pizza cold. She assured me that they will call me back in 30mins

Thirty minutes becomes 45, my ladies have started calling me, no feedback from Eddy’s. I called Eddy’s again to find out, and I was told to give them 10minutes more.

To cut a long story short I had to call them back again because the 10 minutes GMT (Ghana Man Time) had passed. Called thrice but no one picks, finally someone picks my call and tells me my pizza is ready so I can come for it.

I hailed a taxi, went to Eddy’s, told the taxi driver to wait for me because I am just picking something up. I go in and I spend over 45 minutes waiting again because it apparently it wasn’t ready.

I could count less than 6 people there at the time I went so I was wondering what excuse they will give me this time for the delay.

I finally get my pizza and it was without tissue.

I asked for the tissue and one of the ladies there looks into my face and tells me they had run out of tissue. I wish I could describe the look on my face at that moment.

She offers me two pocket tissues which I refused because I had just purchased two jumbo sizes (that is the biggest) pizzas and that wasn’t going to be enough for about 12 people.

Finally I walk out with a pack of pocket tissues and my mind made up about never going back to Eddy’s pizza.

I guess it is only the fool whose testicles are trampled upon twice, and I won’t be that fool again

Ps: I had to pay extra for the taxi because the driver calculated the minutes I spent in there as well.

Response from Eddy’s Piazza to ‘CustomerDiscuss.Com’ team

We are waiting to see if they will have anything reasonable to say to this…

About CustomerDiscuss.Com:
Customer service in Ghana and most parts of Africa is the crappiest we’ve ever come across; as if Ghanaians or Africans use mango leaves to pay for services. The broadband never works, the electricity is never on, the water never flows—and the waitress can keep you waiting for your food until hunger kills your buds.
The real pain is, you have no alternative to turn to—because, like a gang of fools, they are all the same.
Almost every service and product delivering company in Africa has it butt in the faces of customers, farting uncontrollably because the customer cannot really do anything.  Mostly, if you quietly complain, they do nothing and if you are unlucky, they tell you to go f**k off.
Consumers have no voice, not even individual voices—let alone a collective one to force any sort of change.
So we’ve started this website-CustomerDiscuss.Com, supported by GhanaCelebrities.Com and other platforms, dedicated to corporate and public Africa, especially Ghana—-it’s time we shame some of these companies, tear down their lousy services, help them to lose customers and force them to do what’s right.
If you have a complaint about your telecom company, internet provider, a restaurant, your bank or even your church, shoot an email to us via; [email protected] or call/whatsapp 00447961817712.
When you go to a restaurant and you are served in a broken plate or on a dirty table, just take some photos and send them to us with the needed details.
Together, we can get these people to be accountable and importantly, do what’s expected of them.

  1. Eddie’s Pizza is one of the useless Pizza joints in Ghana…I have experienced terrible customer service from them several times and now I do not even want to hear their name. I ordered and paid for jumbo size barbecue sauce (base) with olives as toppings. My driver went to bring the pizza and it was a fuc*king chicken pizza with no olives anywhere located on the pizza. I called them and fortunately got to speak to the same person I ordered from (That rarely happens), she tells me oh sorry madam…I asked her if they will change it when my driver returns it and she says NO! Really??? SMH
