The flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has named his running mate for the 2016 general elections.
Whilst he stayed true to form in nominating a woman, he went a different route this time with the choice of a former beauty pageant winner who has gone on to become a notable philanthropist/entrepreneur.
Brigitte Dzogbenuku won Miss Ghana in 1991, and has since built a business she runs, as well as an activist group, Mentoring Women Ghana (MWG), a non-profit.
She also served as the General Manager of the Aviation Social Centre for 12 years. She runs a regular column, ‘Manners Matter’, in the Mirror; and includes Anglogold Ashanti and SC Johnson as previous employers.
Dzogbenuku was presented by Dr Nduom to the party delegates at its headquarters in Assylum Down today.
