Flagbearer and founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has signed a petition urging President John Mahama to respect the laws of Ghana and the decision of the Supreme Court by keeping the Montie 3 in jail.
The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has started a contrasting petition to the one which many have signed calling on President Mahama to use his presidential pardon powers under the constitution to grant Godwin Ako Gunn, Alistair Nelson and Maase Salifu who were sentenced to 4 months in prison for contempt.
Paa Kwesi Nduom’s signing of this new petition comes after the Policy Advisor for the PPP, Kofi Asamoah Siaw told Citi News a while ago that any decision by the President to revoke the sentencing will “be a slap in the face of the judiciary”.
It’s getting interesting–considering the fact that numerous others including Ministers of State have already signed a petition to have the three pardon.
