Ghanaian Celebrities And The Secondary Schools They Attended

Nobody cares if you went to the University of Ghana or University of Cape Coast. We certainly do not care if you graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a first class in twi and gob3 eating. All that matters to us is the senior high school you attended. Your parents are proud to announce to their peers how you have gained admission to Wesley Girls and the like. The bragging rights of each school can range from how academically good they are to something as petty as how spoilt the students of the said schools are. Oh and the almighty alumni of the school is just as important. We bring to you Ghanaian celebrities and the senior high schools they attended. 1. Jackie Appiah [caption id="attachment_79142" align="aligncenter" width="770"] Jackie Appiah[/caption] In-arguably the most successful actress in this country, the screen diva is a product of Harvard Senior High School. A private senior high school in Ghana which is not as popular or as successful as the other schools in this list. It’s safe to say Jackie Appiah is more popular than Harvard in Ghana. 2. John Dumelo [caption id="attachment_80968" align="aligncenter" width="750"] John Dumelo[/caption] John Dumelo is a product of Achimota School. Achimota needs no introduction if you’re a Ghanaian. About 80% of the politicians in Ghana are alumnus of the school. That perhaps explains the reason why John Dumelo is no longer acting and is actively campaigning for the ruling government. You can’t be an old Achimotan and not be a politician one way or the other 3. Wanlov Da Kuborlor [caption id="attachment_64915" align="aligncenter" width="617"] Wanlov[/caption] If the name (Kuborlor meaning truant) doesn’t give him up I don’t know what other clue you need. Wanlov is an old student of Adisadel College, which is an Anglican school for boys in Cape Coast, Ghana. It certainly looks like notoriety is part and parcel of the values taught in Adisadel College. All the celebrities who are alumnus of the school have questionable attitude. At the back of it is their high level of intelligence. 4. Yvonne Nelson Miss Nelson was in Aggrey Memorial Senior High School. Aggrey Memorial is one of the many good schools in Cape Coast. Before all the fame and banging body, Yvonne Nelson was a tomboy when she was there. 5. Yvonne Okoro [caption id="attachment_81341" align="aligncenter" width="750"] Yvonne Okoro[/caption] Yvonne Okoro is just one of the many other female celebrities in Ghana who went to the all-girls Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School. Most of them are doing very well for themselves. Syte, as the school is popularly known has blessed us with some gorgeous screen divas and musicians. 6. Nadia Buari Another product of Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School, the beautiful mother of dragons has always been a site to behold since her secondary school days. 7. Majid Michel [caption id="attachment_60780" align="aligncenter" width="618"] Majid Michel[/caption] It was just right to move to Mfantsipim after we were done with the Mfantsiman girls. Majid is an alumnus of Mfantsipim School, another all boys school is Cape Coast. They are well known for their skills and dominance in basketball. 8. Van Vicker Van is also an old student of Mfantsipim School. 9. Mensah [caption id="attachment_29793" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Mensa[/caption] Does he have a questionable character? Is he very good in his chosen field? Academically gifted? Notorious? You guessed right, he’s a product of Adisadel College. 10. Deborah Vannessa [caption id="attachment_72998" align="aligncenter" width="770"] Deborah Vanessa[/caption] I was honestly not expecting Sister Debbie to be a product of Wesley Girls High School considering her persona. Well, she’s academically good and Wanlov is her brother, what else do you expect? 11. Sarkodie [caption id="attachment_78869" align="aligncenter" width="650"] Sarkodie[/caption] The most successful rap artist in Ghana is an old student of Methodist Day Senior High School (Medass). Youre forgiven if you don’t know the school, I haven’t even heard of it until now. 12. Stonebwoy [caption id="attachment_80781" align="aligncenter" width="770"] Stonebwoy[/caption] Looks like Methodist Day Senior High School (Medass) has given us two very great artists. We cant be mad at them, they’re doing pretty well.
