An Emirates aircraft flying from Thiruvananthapuram, India, to Dubai has been forced to make an emergency landing at Dubai airport, BreakingNews reports.
Following the emergency landing, thick smoke has been seen at the airport and Emirates has confirmed this in a statement, saying: ‘Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport on 3rd August 2016 at about 12.45pm local time’
‘We can confirm flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai has been involved in an accident at Dubai International,’ Emirates has confirmed.
The airline has also said: ‘There were 275 passengers and crew on board. Our main priority now is the safety and well-being of all involved’
As a result of the incident, no take offs or landing is currently allowed from the airport and all flights have been diverted.
