MzVee has recently been coming under strong attack from Kaakie, who returned from a hiatus and immediately set to work to claim back her crown of ‘dancehall queen’.
The BET award nominee recently released a number with reigning VGMA artist of the year EL titled ‘Make I Shine’, a song most have described as a reply to Kaakie. But MzVee denies that is the case, saying beefing of that kind is simply not her style.
Speaking to the Graphic Showbiz, the songstress said the message of the song was one of motivation, and it wasn’t an attack on anyone.
“Make I Shine is a motivational song to inspire my fans. It has got nothing to do with hitting back at any one,” she told the publication.
“Many of us are surrounded by people who just want to see us fall which to me is bad and should not be encouraged,” she added.
MzVee said the prevalence of ‘pull him down’ in our society is not an ideal situation.
She also touched on why she choose EL to be on the number with her.
I thought it wise that having him on the song would be an opportunity to tap into his experience and be a better artiste” she said.
