5 Ghanaian Celebrities Rumoured to be GAME MEN—Sakawa Boys…

R2Bees

Sakawa, which was initially the local name for internet fraud in Ghana has graduated to become something else—extensively scattered, such that it’s difficult to specifically define it.
Today, it’s not just a matter of internet fraud: some say Sakawa boys, politely called “Game men” employ all manner of local voodoo which are mostly accompanied by insane rituals like sleeping in coffins for their cash to start flowing
There are tales of people said to be housing money vomiting snakes that vomit dollars, pounds or whatever currency for them at nights in Ghana, all termed Sakawa.
And there’s the traditional Sakawa, where a man pretends to be a woman–to talk to a white man somewhere in Europe or America, swindling huge sum of money from this white man because of his love interest in the “cute” pretender.
It’s rumoured that even those using this old internet fraud tactic have stepped up their game, by using voodoo to “charm” the white folks they deal with so they would easily send whatever amount of money they request.
How can we forget the fraudulent credit card purchases which is the cornerstone of Sakawa in Ghana?
Though there’s no substantive evidence of there ever being any snake capable of vomiting money or a person being able to charm another so that the charmed would wire thousands of dollars or pounds to the one doing the twisting, it’s undeniable that several people are spending huge cash in Ghana without any viable corresponding source.
These mysterious spenders whose source of income are unknown but ride in expensive cars or blow cash as though they own dozens of diamond mines are loosely pulled into the box of Sakawa—the Game men.
From Aston Martins to Range Rover, these “Game men’ own them all.
As the BBC once reported, “Internet fraudsters in Ghana are easy to spot. The young men in fast cars have become such a conspicuous group that they even have their own nickname.”
Several Ghanaian musicians have been rumoured to be Game men and today, we bring you 5 of these.
