Mother of the Italian and A.C Milan football legend Paolo Maldini, Marisa, has quietly passed away in Italy.
Marisa was mother to the global football icon and his siblings. The official website of the club announced the news with a cryptic statement Thursday.
“Today is a sad day for all of us: Marisa Maldini passed away. We are all feeling very close to the Maldini family.” the site wrote.
“Marisa is now with her beloved husband Cesare. To our Paolo, to Alessandro, Piercesare, Donatella, Monica, and Valentina the most heartfelt condolences from everyone in AC Milan.
“Dear Marisa will be remembered as a family person, with high moral standings. An elegant woman, a dear mother and wife who was always there for her children and husband.”
Maldini’s father Cesare had passed away just in April this year. Condolences to his family at this time.
