Woman Described As A Witch Says She Was Responsible For Labadi Car Accident

accident
The normal Ghanaian response to anything not particularly understood is to ascribe superstitious meanings, and this case is no different.
A car accident that occurred near the Kpeshie lagoon in Labadi over the weekend got stranger when an unkempt woman appeared on the scene claiming to be thirsty for blood and expressing disappointment at the fact noone died in the accident.
According to myjoyonline, the accident occurred Sunday at the Bush Road junction near the Labadi Beach Hotel, involving a Hyundai Sonata and a taxi caravan.  The speeding Hyundai rammed into the taxi and somersaulted several times.
A few people were injured and were thus carted off to hospital, but that was the point when things got weirder.
“When the injured were taken to the hospital and people were trying to make sense of what happened, a middle-aged woman appeared from no where claiming she caused the the accident to taste blood.” myjoyonline reported.
“The visibly unstable woman said all four of her children had been killed and that she was blood-thirsty.
“She was unhappy that the accident was not fatal.”
This got the gathered crowd to brand her as a witch. Not surprising, that is always the first place the Ghanaian mind goes. Luckily, no one tried to lynch her… as far as we know.
