The Ghana National Service Scheme has announced a new module wherein service personell can decide to stay on for an additional six months at the end of their one year mandatory service if they desire.
In a statement issued by the organisation and signed by its acting director, Michael Kpessa-Whyte, service personnel intent on taking on the voluntary service period would be required to register on the website of the scheme for their eventual reassignments.
The new initiative is aimed at supplying mainly public sector bodies such as schools, the Electoral Commission and the National Commission on Civic Education, among others, with personell to man their posts.
The deadline for registration to join the new scheme is 19th August, 2016.
