Actor John Dumelo has denied doing politics in senior high schools, as claimed by the New Patriotic Party’s Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku.
Earlier today, we reported that Dumelo has been accused of of visiting some senior high schools under the pretense of a peace ambassador but cunningly canvassing votes for President Mahama and the NDC. And we pointed out that it was illegal, as political activities are banned in senior high school.
But John Dumelo says the reports are absolutely false.
Speaking to Yaa Konama on UTV’s “Adekye Nsroma”, the 32-year-old actor said he only goes to the schools to talk about peace, and has never done politics with the students.
“We write to the school authorities and most of the schools approve it…I go with the aim of preaching peace. I advise them not to do politics on the campuses and I try as much as possible not to talk about politics…,” he said.
He added: “If you talk of outside the school; I will agree that I do politics especially when I go to the market but with the schools I don’t do politics. I don’t go with the green book neither do I wear party paraphernalia; I just don’t talk about politics.”
