Idris Elba Says He Is Too Old To Play James Bond

The chatter about Idris Elba being the next James Bond rarely dies down, no matter how much the actor insists that he isn’t interested in the role.
So it was again that during an appearance on Good Morning America, Elba was once again hit with the question on whether he was next in line to play the iconic character.
He issued a categorical denial, this time using one of showbiz’s most iconic lines, ‘I’m too old for this sh*t!’
“…If I’m really honest man, I think I’m too old for that man, running around in cars and ladies and martinis, who wants to do that? Sounds terrible.” he said.
“I keep saying if it were to happen it would be the will of a nation because there hasn’t been any talks between me and the studio about any of that,” he continued.
“But everywhere I go people want that to happen, so…”
The British actor also spoke on his appearance in the most recent Star Trek movie, a dream of his since he grew up watching the franchise.
“Star Trek Beyond”, in which Elba plays the villain, opens in theatres today (July 22.)
